Rio Will Kick Ronaldo if he needs to be kicked

“I’ve been speaking to him on the phone,” said Rio. “I think it’s in the stars it will happen. You want to play against the best players, and he is the best. He will get a hello and a shake of the hand, but if he needs to be kicked, he will be kicked.”

Charlton Backs Rooney For Record

He likes the cut of his jib

Bobby Charlton thinks Wayne Rooney can carry the burden of being England's lead striker for the next few years.
"I would really have no problems if Wayne eventually got beyond 50," Charlton told the Manchester Evening News.

"There are a lot of goals to come from him.

"I don't worry about talking about Wayne like this or the fact that people see him as so vital for England these days because he is a big lad, a strong character who can handle the pressure."

FERGIE: PAYING PARENTS WOULD BE CRAZY

Sir Alex Ferguson has launched an impassioned defence of Manchester United's signing of young players and insisted it would be "crazy" to even contemplate paying parents.

United were accused by the president of French club Le Havre, Jean-Pierre Louvel, of offering the parents of 16-year-old Paul Pogba a house and Ј170,000 in cash.

Chelsea have been banned from making signings for two transfer windows for inducing a teenager to break his contract with another French club, Lens, and a number of other complaints against English clubs have since been made.

Apart from the Pogba case, Fiorentina have written to FIFA over United's swoop for 16-year-old Italian defender Michele Fornasier, though a formal investigation has yet to be launched.

Ferguson said on Thursday: "There has been a lot of jumping on the bandwagon of course but I can assure you that Manchester United have behaved absolutely correctly in all their dealings with young players and their parents.

"There has never been a case, ever, that we have paid parents. It would be crazy to even contemplate that because it would be the biggest headache you could ever have, paying a parent.

"This was levelled [at us] by some frustrated director at the French club and he's now going to have to retract.

"We do it impeccably. They were always going to bring Manchester United into it because they are the biggest club, but without any foundation, without any knowledge of the situation whatsoever.

"What other clubs do is subject to a lot of controversy at the moment but I'm confident at our own club."

Ferguson also revealed that Rio Ferdinand is in contention for United's match at Tottenham on Saturday evening but John O'Shea is set to be missing after suffering a calf injury on duty with the Republic of Ireland.

Ferguson added: "Rio has been in training this week and has a got a chance for Saturday, I'm not sure how big a chance but he has got a chance.

"I don't know if there's any injuries with the players coming back from games but I think the England players are all right."

The Republic's coach Giovanni Trapattoni had warned that O'Shea could be ruled out for a couple of months if he is rushed back into action too soon.

Ferguson said: "O'Shea has not trained - he came back with a calf injury from Ireland's game in Cyprus and is doubtful for Saturday so we will see what he's like."

Berbatov: Rooney Offers More Than Ronaldo Did

Dimitar Berbatov has been very praiseworthy of his team mate Wayne Rooney, claiming that he is the best player in the league.

Like every other United player these days, Berbatov has been asked how we will cope without Cristiano Ronaldo, but our Bulgarian reckons we already have a player, in Rooney, who will add a lot more to our team than Ronaldo did.

“Wayne is the biggest talent in the Premier League,” said Berbatov. “We have lost a great player in Ronaldo, but even when he was at the club Wayne was still the biggest natural talent for me. He has much more to his game than Ronaldo. I wish Cristiano well, but he is our past now and Manchester United can become bigger and better without him.”

It truly is Manchester United`s Time to pay tribute to the one and only Flying Ryan

Welcome to my blog. I have been a fan for 17 years now and i am 24 year old so i have spent a lof of time watching football and mostly Manchester United. I will never go on and say The Red Devils are the best team in the world, i can`t say this cause (i won`t even say their name ) the "whites" hold the record for winning the Uefa Champions League nine times, BUT it`s a big big BUT i will say Manchester United are the most consistent team at least in the last 20 years. If anyone disagrees i am ready to battle :). Now to get to the point United have a lot of legens allready: Beckham , Neville, Keane , Cantona, Best , Law, Sir Bobby , The Baby Face , Ferdinand , Scholes i can go on and on , but my point is Sir Alex is allready Immortal thats for sure, but the whole idea is i think United must retire the N:11 shirt when (Sir " yeah i hope they give him this title) Giggs decides it`s time to hung up his boots end a trophy filled career and be recognized as the biggest professional to ever touch the green and at least for me as the best player to never receive the Ballon d`Or. I hope you see where i am going with this blog. Expect posts before and after every matchday and after every big news about the team. I hope for some good discussions here. Btw i am born on 11.11.1984 so i mayne like the N:11 a little bit more :)
